Pain we fix

Ingrown toenails

Ingrowing toenails can be a very painful experience. The cause of an ingrown toenail could be many things from the shape of the nail, damage to the nail from trauma, cutting the nails too short or footwear that is not correctly fitted. At Pain Free Podiatry we aim to do just that- remove the ingrown toenail as pain free as possible! Our Podiatrists have many years experience with ingrown toenails and are extremely gentle. Ingrown toenails can occur at any age (our youngest patient being only 4 weeks old!).

Ingrown Toenail Surgery

If a surgery is needed to remove recurrent ingrown toenails this can be done at the Pain Free Podiatry clinic. Our Podiatrists are very experienced and usually perform the surgery on a Monday or Thursday with a free dressing consult 3-4 days after. The surgery is quick and relatively painless. The goal of ingrown toenail surgery is to prevent future ingrown toenails, as well as future pain and infection from them.

Heel Pain

– Heel pain is extremely common, most people try off the shelf orthotics or inserts from a chemist, footwear store or physiotherapist. At Pain Free Podiatry we understand why the foot is in pain and change the way you walk in order to relieve the pain- off the shelf inserts from the chemist, footwear store or even the physiotherapist do not change the way you walk and therefore will not relieve the pain!

Bunions

Bunions can be genetic or they can be caused from walking incorrectly. Bunions can be caused from your heel bone leaning inwards (pronating) and therefore causing extra pressure on your metatarsal and big toe. This pushes the bone outwards causing the bunion. The only way to fix bunions is surgery although Pain Free Podiatry can stop or slow down the progression of the bunion to prevent surgery.

Flat Feet

Flat feet in children, teenagers and Adults is quite common. Some people have pain, others do not. Some people do not realise that their back pain, hip pain, knee pain or ankle pain is actually caused from their flat feet. Pain Free Podiatry has many years experience in treating flat feet. The Podiatrist will change the way the foot is held when standing and walking. In turn, this will correct the flat feet and re-align the rest of the body! A flat foot could also be the reason for heel pain.

High Arched feet

High arched feet can occur at any age. A high arched foot can cause pain to the bottom of the heel, arch or ball of the foot. High arched feet are like a tripod with a lot of pressure going through the heel, big toe and little toe. Our Podiatrists can help re-distribute this pressure and ease your pain today!

Corns

Corns are very common and are caused from pressure to the area they are located. (i.e. if you are wearing tight shoes and the shoe is pressing on the little toe, a corn may form. If you have a corn on the bottom of the foot it is caused from pressure in that area when walking or standing). Pain Free Podiatry can help relieve the pain of a corn instantly and discuss options for removing the pressure in the area affected.

Thickened toenails could be caused from a variety of things like fungal toenails or even trauma. Our Podiatrists can help with the thickness of the nails by painlessly filing them down. This will not be a permanent solution although it helps with any pain caused by thickened toenails.
